“Hello! My
name is Jenny Hampton and I am currently in my final year studying
English at Queens in Belfast, which is very cold at the moment! I hope

Hello again,
Have not been very faithful to my journal recently as the last few weeks have been mad, what with meeting George Mitchell, attending charity film premieres and then New York…oh the life I lead!! Anyway have been having a brilliant time here and I am more reluctant than ever to return to the metropolis that is Saul in Co. Down in 2 weeks…But alas…anyway I would like to give a big thankyou to my big brother Jim and his partner Caroline for a lovely weekend in New York…you couldn’t beat it with a big stick!
However now I must go and save the world a little more this afternoon,
Jenny (aka Jeniffy)

Hello!
Had a great weekend…despite dreading going to watch the soccer match it actually turned out to be really enjoyable in that I actually spontaneously jumped to see a potential goal, which is not bad for someone who has more interest in watching paint dry than football. Saturday also saw a night in Adams Morgan in a wonderful bar by the name of Common Share! Many of the group took this opportunity to share a lot with other individuals..which was so admirable of them, entering into the spirit of the program like that! It is raining like home here today and is a bit nippy too which feels a bit surreal in D.C..but I am sure I will cope!Anyway my project is ticking over lovely and am meeting George Mitchell tomorrow, something which was kindly arranged
by my mentor. So until another time…
Jenny

Hello!
It is so long since I have written in my journal, it is just that I have been so busy…so much stuff has happened! I helped out on a Habitat site in Anacostia on Friday…which was hard work and I am glad to be back in the office! And all I did over the weekend was eat from barbecures and drink wine like the young socialite that I am! Yesterday I attended the lunch for the young political leaders which was really interesting, they really were a lovely bunch and the food was beautiful. The time is just flying by here but I will write soon again.

P.S Does anyone want to buy a raffle ticket?

The temperature in D.C just rose by an awful lot today! Everything is going well, the weekend was great although unfortunate that Adam and Paddy nearly drowned Brenda…(it is payback time to the many gossips of other journal pages!). Anyway might be going on a build at the end of the week which should be interesting and hard work..!

Hello again!
Things are great, the July 4th celebrations were brilliant, especially my ‘wade’ through the Reflecting Pool in the style of Forest Gump! My project for Habitat is really starting to lift off, so I am very happy in my placement.Anyway back to work I must go!

Still having a wonderful time here…my project is coming along nicely and my first week at work was complimented by a great weekend-finally got to celebrate my 2.1 in style! I went down to hear the speakers at the Free Tibet march on Saturday, only to be standing metres away from Richard Gere! It was really inspiring to hear the different human rights activists speak especially in somewhere like D.C. Anyway, Happy July 4th to everyone!
Speak to you soon, Jenny.

Okay so no big movers or shakers have invited for lunch yet and neither have any men for that matter…..but I am having an excellent time with my trusty room mate and fellow classylady Bronagh. Our host family are absolutely lovely only seem intent in sending us home three stone heavier by plying us with brownies.
The placement is going great and I am working on a project by myself on the potential in Ireland for Habitat for Humanity International…so watch this space..
Anyway that’s all from Planet Jenny for now, will update regularly to keep you all in touch!
